Athens Classic Marathon 2012, was an amazing Marathon original run race this year, with about 26000 participating elite runners. Raymond Bett of Kenya was the winner in 2 hours, 11 minutes and 35 seconds.
The Athens Classic Marathon 2012, is part of the 2,500th anniversary of the battle of Marathon in 490 BC and the legendary run by Pheidippides from the Marathon Battlefield to the city of Athens.
The race started at 09.00 earlier today with a record number of participating runners, athletes as well as many people and a great number of Greek Citizens all ages joined on 5 km, 10 km, and the classic marathon of the 42km race.

The Athens Classic Marathon Race 2012, joined important events that took place on 8th , 10th and 11th November at The City of Marathon Greece.
