London Marriot Country Hall awarded by Green Tourism
The 5 star Hotel London Marriot Country Hall awarded by Green Tourism with Silver Award for Hotel’s successful environmental achievements on several areas of operation as well as social responsibility policy.   According to Green Tourism Scheme, Hotel succeeded a number of environmentalUK_BLANK_GTBS goals as to reduce gas consumption by 10% and 5.5% electricity consumption by the introduction of sustainable and fair trade products and in-house filtered water for in room service, private dining and meeting rooms, upgrade of lighting and the installation of energy efficient LED lights and the establishment of a Green Team Committee to continually review and upgrade best practice green initiatives across the hotel. General Manager Theresa Maw said, “Sustainability is anincreasingly important focus for the travel and tourism industry and we arehonoured to have the efforts of the team acknowledged by the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Our Green Team Committee is focused on continuing to improve our environmental credentials in the future.”

The Green Tourism Business Scheme is the national sustainable tourism certification scheme for the UK. Originally developed in partnership with VisitScotland, it is now the only national scheme to be independently validated by the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT) on behalf of VisitEngland, VisitWales and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and endorsed by VisitScotland and Failte Ireland.
